OMI Scholastics Renew their Vows

The renewal of the three evangelical vows for the religious is a yearly commitment for the OMI scholastics. There are four temporary vows for professed by a religious before having his final vows or the perpetual vows. The Evangelical Vows are Poverty, Obedience, and Chastity. For the Oblates, they are also to profess the vows of perseverance as instituted by the Founder St. Eugene de Mazenod.

Last June 12,2013 at 8:30 in the morning, a Eucharistic celebration was held. It was presided by Fr. Ramon Bernabe, OMI, the new Director of Norte Dame of Greater Manila and former Provincial Superior. Together with him were the Oblate priests from the Manila District, the Parish priest of Pentecost Parish where the seminary is under its territory. The celebration was also attended by family, relatives and friends of the scholastic from Grace Park, Bagong Barrio and Pentecost Parish.

There were about 12 scholastics who renewed their vows before Fr. Francis Zabala, OMI, representative of the Provincial Superior to accept the vows. The solemn celebration of the Eucharist with the rite of profession of vows captured the success of the whole celebration.

A simple meal was served by the family of one of the scholastic's after the Eucharist.
