SAINT PIO OF PIETRELCINA Capuchin

SAINT PIO OF PIETRELCINA
Capuchin

Saint Pio was born of simple, hard-working farming people on May 25, 1887, in Pietrelcina Southern Italy. He was tutored privately until his entry into Capuchin friars at the age of 15. Of feeble health but with strong will, and with the help of grace he completed the required studies and was ordained a priest in 1910.
On September 20, 1918, the five wounds of our Lord's passion appeared on his body, making him the first stigmatized priest in the history of the church. His whole like was marked by long hours of prayer and continual austerity. He has a deep union with God, burning love for the Blessed Eucharist and our Blessed lady. Worn out by over half a century of intense suffering and constant apostolic activity in San Giovanni,Rotondo, he was called to his heavenly reward on September 23, 1968. He was canonized as saint on June 16, 2002.

(Founder of Opus Dei) June 25, 2010

Great holiness consists in carrying the "little duties" of each moment."... St. Jose Maria Escriva.
"Human life is in some way a constant returning to our Father's house. We return through contition, through the conversion of heart, which means a desire to change, a firm decision to improve our life and which therefore is expressed in sacrifice and self-giving we return to our Father's house by means of that Sacrament of Pardon in which by confessing our sins we put on Jesus Christ again and become His brothers, members of God's family." ( Christ is passing by 64.6)

Rev. Fr. Rodel F. Lopez, OMI officiated the solemn Eucharistic celebration with some songs and responses in Latin.

Fr. Rodel F. Lopez, OMI delivered the homily. " Let us perform every single and simple task that we have to do in the best way that we can and offer it to God as our daily Prayer."
